I do a lot of website marketing for my clients. Anyone that works in SEO knows that it is more of an art than a science but being well informed as to what search engines are looking for will put you in good stead with your page rankings. On my resources page I've added a couple of useful online tools that I use to gauge the online market presence of my clients sites. Hopefully you'll find something useful there as well.
I decided it's about time I start giving back to the design community. I will be adding a tutorial section to this website in the next month or so. It will include my personal design tips and techniques as well as full guides as to how I completed some of the designs you see here on this portfolio. If there is any tutorial you'd like to see, or perhaps you're stuck with some design technique, drop me an email and if I can help you out, I will. Now, I'm an in-demand designer so don't hold me to the month-deadline ;)
This is a good one! Go here and download "The Photoshop Anthology" completely free from SitePoint. For the most part it appears to be for beginner to intermediate level Photoshop users; however, there is probably the odd technique or two that even the advanced user could pick up. Only 19 days left to get it so go grab a copy for your self now.
Firefox 3 Release Candidate 1 was made available last week for download, which means the final release is right around the corner. The consensus appears to be that Firefox 3 is a giant step forward in realm of internet browers. It's faster, more secure, and good looking (always a plus for us designers out there). You can download Firefox 3 here.
Durban's Joomla! day has been moved to the 20 & 21 June 2008. I highly recommend anyone interested in learning about Joomla! to attend the event as it presents and excellent resource for developers to network with like-minded individuals. Various sponsorships are available for companies looking to market their products to this niche sector. For more information visit www.joomladay.co.za.
Here it is... the latest incarnation of omegared.co.za - hope you like the new design. Keep an eye out for new content as I will be adding new articles and downloads periodically. I'm also planning on bumping up my resources page and add some useful links for the rest of the web "deviners" (developer/designers) out there.
There is a ton of new information on this site, hopefully that my customers and other designers will find helpful. I've updated my "About" section so you have some more information about just who you're dealing with ;) I've also added a number of links to my resources page, which include some useful tools and free software downloads. Check them out here.
Durban's Joomla! day has been postponed due to "sluggish registrations following the numerous public holidays last two weeks, and late marketing responses from our partners in media". The organisers are looking to hold the event on 21 June but this is still to be finalised. You can still register for Joomla! day here.
